Fragments of Samsara

Time Travel on Paper

Page from my journal when I was in yoga teacher’s training at Sivananda Ashram in 1996.

A part of me has never left the ashram. The concepts I learned circle back over and over – as yoga, as the Law of Attraction, as quantum physics, as neural science.

I am a slow but thorough learner. I will listen to your point of view and take the time to make my own decisions. I am curious. I am a trouble maker and I question authority.

Being at the ashram was a combination of bliss and torture. Leaving New York was hard. Coming back to New York City, to western consumer culture, was even more difficult.

Man, it was really nice to focus on being human and having a spiritual practice in a setting built for it. The trick is weaving that spiritual practice into all that we do, no matter the setting.

I can tell you – most of us are capable of more than we believe of ourselves.

In the meantime – a message from September 26, 1996:

If time loots away [life], you might as well have fun. Why be a miser with your life?
Mind is not individual, it is connected to the total. Once you begin inquiring, Maya disappears.
The world is a reflection of your own mind.

Samsara: that which is continually changing.

(And the big question is):
Who are you?
From where have you come?

Technology for Human Potential

We do not live in stasis. We may try, but the only constant in life is change. Perhaps that is why it feels so terrible to be stuck in a rut.

I read Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Becoming Supernatural, and it basically describes yogic meditation and pranayama techniques combined with visualization to direct change in the brain and life. He also measure the brainwaves of the practitioners of his work.

Yoga is a technology for transformation of human growth and potential. It is simple and it is deep, the work of lifetimes.

This video below touches on reprogramming your mind to reprogram your life.
