Reincarnation, Time Tripping, and The Tibetan Book of the Dead: what’s astrology got to do with it?

If there is a gift to the pandemic, it’s getting to immerse myself in ideas around astrology; embodiment and disembodiment; kundalini kriyas and meditations; affirmations and transforming brain patterns and belief systems; reframing consciousness; and creating through teaching, writing, art, music, and tarot and astro exploration. I was already doing these things, but without face-to-face socializing, more study and focus is happening.

I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts.

In the Cosmic Connection podcast, astrologer Rick Levine talks to Amanda “Pua” Walsh of Astrology Hub about Saturn and Pluto and reincarnation and disincarnation and the nature of consciousness.  Rick mentions that his exploration is “radical”. It doesn’t feel radical to me. A deeper inquiry into “what if” and “who/what are we” and ‘what is it to be human” feels like the right thing to be doing right now. (Then again, the work-a-day world felt like nothing more than going through the motions just to survive – a fake way of being ’til I had the time/space/money to be myself).

This conversation brightened my day! I hope it brightens yours.

I am looking forward to meeting Rick and Amanda in person someday. I planned on taking Rick’s annual Breitenbush Hot Springs astrology workshop retreat this July. Of course, it was canceled due to unforeseen global events. Flipping through my calendar and seeing the dates canceled feels weird. After years of wanting to go, finally making the decision to go, then not being able to go, hit me harder than expected. Looks like I am getting clear on what is important to me.

If you want to explore lunar aspects of astrology, join me in my seminar: Co-Creating with the Cosmos. We will be exploring how to embody the sunny, creative, dramatic energy of Leo and how to apply that energy into manifesting with the new moon cycle(s)!

  1. Such a great video start to finish. Ok, I see. Part of my low energy has been coming out of my radio silence in late Feb and reverently respecting to give myself the space to protect the oyster-spit flesh of the new iteration of me emerging, though I’ve got my bearings, and I think my sponge just re-appeared. Chuckling. Smiling. Time to abSORB more stuf, and squeeze the sponge daily of course.

            1. There also (to me) feels to be a coming together of enthusiasm and discernment, though not to make enthusiasm sit in the corner to tamp it down and not to pull discernment to move too far out of its shell. I think that’s where the “Empathic Silence” term I came up with over the last couple of day as a Psychology Technque or simply a description of that Mode of Being With Ourselves to describe what to do when attacked/adversely engaged/et/etc… It was directly inspired by my Brainspotting and how I feel relative to being that tre with strong roots.

“Trees with strong roots laugh at storms.” ~ Malay Proverb … that I love you poured into the crucible as a writing prompt…

The ferocious and torrential storm bore down on the tree over and over lashing and waving and gusting and finally spent, subsiding… and the Tree, “Thank you storm for the free, intense, power-wash level shower. Did you have a message for me?”

              1. Enthusiasm and discernment were words of the day for me today. As well as intuition.

The Tree with strong roots – I am beginning to see our generation evolve this way. Perhaps its the Chiron return – or observing so many people return to their roots – the roots of their passion and creativity.

And the Capricorn container of our sovereignty is is like kinsukuroi – Pluto is cracking it open, Saturn is filling the cracks with metal and Jupiter is saying yes!~ bigger! more! break it up and build it up! And Saturn – don’t be cheap, lead will not do! By the time this is over the container will have a different shape.

  2. Now, he’s bringing in Rupert Sheldrake and Morphogenesis that I studied intensely in the early 2000s that shed off into my own work around 2005… hmmm when I started my deck. Love it.

Holly, Are you familiar with the Psychologist Julian Jaynes? He wrote “The Rise of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind.”

      1. I think you’ll dig it… in a very big and expansive psychological thought process way. Quite interesting. Makes the case that the Ancient Egyptians mostly heard voices, Bicameral, except the conscious ones who were more evolved, Pharoah/Empress, and that there was a drastic psychological shift in the brain across the world around 2000 BCE to 0 and proceeding to present. That’s WAY too simplistically overgeneralized, though I felt like I was at a gourmet multi-course dinner reading it back in 1999 — lol Prince was probably playing in the background loud enough to drown out the neighbors.

  3. Sunlight and Sunclipse and his re-languaging birth and death inspired from Bucky’s “have to change your language to change your mind.” Incarnation/Reincarnation, Disincarceration. Delicicous. THank you for this video, Holly!
