What if I told you, “You are enough?”

The right to be alive. First Chakra. Our connection to Earth and to the Cosmos. Our right to be free.

How are you supported in your right to be? Can you look in the mirror and say, “I am enough?” How does it feel to know that your being alive is enough? I am proposing that for the next 30 days, every time you pass a mirror, look into your own eyes and say , “I am enough.”

~ New First Chakra Quotes ~

“Everyone should have themselves regularly overwhelmed by Nature.” ~ George Harrison

“Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person’s face as you pass them on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you.”  ~ Miranda July

“This is the world as it is. This is where you start.”Saul D. Alinsky

“National humiliation is long in gestation and violent in resolution.” – Roger Cohen

“The purpose of life is to be alive.” – Charlotte Kasl, If the Buddha Got Stuck

This is the fight our generation was made for. You know enough. And you can learn. If this happened in the future, there may not have been people around who lived the fight. Holocaust survivors, Vietnam and Iraq war veterans. AIDS activists. People who have seen what happens when ghouls come in and try to destroy government. We will turn their ridiculous plans into puddles as the sun comes out. ~ Matthew Kohn

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” — Mae West

“The whole point of Jesus’s life was not that we should become exactly like him, but that we should become ourselves in the same way he became himself. Jesus was not the great exception but the great example. – Carl Jung

“The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection.” – Johann Harri

2nd Chakra Say . . .

Chakra 2: Svadhistana ~ Sweetness • Desire • Power of Relationships • The Right to Feel • Water

mirror starThe 2nd chakra is where kundalini release begins – orgasm, exercise (movement, fluidity), and creativity. This is where we begin to put ourselves out to the world – we take what we experience and reflect on it. We move beyond the tribe. We like to make things, and push boundaries and we develop our unique “taste” for things.

There is a push and pull with the 2nd chakra. It is where we develop our sense of personal identity, and at the same time it is where we develop our relationships. It is through relationships that we become conscious of who we are. Every relationship, whether casual or intimate, has a lesson for us. The 2nd chakra is our ethical center, where we develop our sense of honor, where we make choices creatively, sexually, and emotionally. This is where our emotions begin to move, and where we need to be fluid enough to let them inform us so that we may continue expanding our consciousness. This is where we must balance fear and faith, control and chaos, creativity and finances.

“It is said that each time we embrace someone warmly, we gain an extra day of life.” – Paulo Coelho

“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” — Plato

“Sex is an affirmation of life. By making sex a prominent part of it – placing it on the top of our list of priorities – it helps us face daily challenges in other parts of our lives. No matter what struggles there are, we put them aside and establish a time and place to embrace desire and pleasure. We are less likely to fight over folding the laundry or the details of renovating the house when we feel sexually satisfied… Communication, respect, trust, and generosity that begin in the bedroom find their way into every aspect of the relationship.” ~Stanley Seigel

“My grandfather always said that living is like licking honey off a thorn.” ~Louis Adamic

“Humans are radically relational—the sacred is to be found in the spaces between us.” ~ author unknown

“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; both are transformed.” ~ Carl Jung

“My favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day because it’s the holiday that takes care of my taste buds.” – Seraphina, 10 year-old girl

“Female sexual pleasure, rightly understood, is not just about sexuality, or just about pleasure. it serves also, as a medium of female self-knowledge and hopefulness; female creativity and courage; female focus and initiative; female bliss and transcendence; and as a medium of sensibility, that feels very much like freedom. To understand the vagina properly is to realize that it is not only coextensive with the female brain, but it is also, essentially, part of the female soul.” – Naomi Wolf  Vagina: A New Biography

“ALWAYS LEAVE THEM WANTING MORE.” – Thelonious Monk

“Sex is kicking death in the ass while singing.”
― Charles Bukowski

“I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naïve or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman.” ― Anaïs Nin

7th Chakra

Chakra 7: Sahasrara ~ Understanding  • Spiritual Connection  • The Right to Know • Thought

verde sunset.7The 7th chakra is where we become conscious of our connection to the Divine. According to Carolyn Myss, “our goal while on this earth is to transcend our illusions and discover the innate power of our spirits.” One of the biggest illusions we live with is time – especially when we let our thoughts “live too long in the past”. The 7th Chakra calls for us to live in the present moment, and to trust that if we live “ . . . fully in the present moment, the mysteries of yesterday will gradually be unraveled for us.”

This chakra is concerned with the way we think, our belief systems, and our connection to higher power. Think on this—thought is the first emanation of consciousness on its way to manifestation. So, thought, being high in the ethereal realm, is the seed of manifestation, which brings us back “down” to the earthly plane.

Below are quotes I’ve collected pertaining to the Seventh Chakra.
What Seventh Chakra quotes come to mind for you? (Feel free to share in the comments):

The efflux of the soul is happiness – here is happiness;
I think it pervades the open air, waiting at all times;
Now it flows into us – we are
rightly charged.
— Walt Whitman

“If you have nothing at all to create, then perhaps you create yourself.” —Carl Jung

“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person…by far more than you have ever dreamed yourself to be.” – Patanjali

“JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT A DRUMMER, DOESN’T MEAN YOU DON’T HAVE TO KEEP TIME.” – Thelonious Monk

“WHATEVER YOU THINK CAN’T BE DONE, SOMEBODY WILL COME ALONG & DO IT. A GENIUS IS THE ONE MOST LIKE HIMSELF.” – Thelonious Monk

“The free soul is rare, but you know it when you see it – basically because you feel good, very good, when you are near or with them.”
―
Charles Bukowski, Tales of Ordinary Madness

“And this, our life, exempt from public haunts, finds tongues in trees and books in running brooks and sermons in stones and good in everything.” ~ William Shakespeare

“There must be more than this.” — almost everyone at some point in their lives

“I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naïve or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman.” ― Anaïs Nin
