Writing the Energetic Body – 4 Week Online Course Shedding Inhibition and Divining Your Intentions Workshop – 28 Days of Writing Past the Mind and into the Chakras
Allow your inner-critic to relax, have fun writing, and recieve encouragement and feedback while exploring your chakras.
For this workshop we start from the Crown and work our way down to the Root. You’re encouraged to set an intention at the beginning of the session and to give thanks for the abundance that is already in your life. The Crown is about Ideas, Spirit, Divine Inspiration. The Root is about Manifestation.
Writing the Energetic Body will use the major chakra system as the “backbone” for self-exploration through writing.
compassionately and creatively observe the Self
uncover hidden impulses, stories, and life patterns
awaken the body/mind
utilize the breath for presence in the moment
deepen and expand creative vision
loosen up and strengthen fluid writing
There is no need to “know” anything about the chakra system, our bodies physically and energetically hold information, and by freely writing we can tap into that knowledge.
Participants will receive daily writing prompts designed to stimulate a specific chakra for the given day in their in-boxes. They will spend 30 minutes only on the given prompt. They will return their responses via email to me. Participants will also have the chance to upload their work to a private blog site to share and to give and receive feedback from other participants.
I will personally respond to your work via email.
As an added bonus, participants also receive either written, audio, or video instruction for movement, meditation, or breath work that will deepen the prompt for the day. Participants may use the additional instruction however they choose—and it is theirs to refer to whenever they like.
Partner Journey through the Chakras – An Exploration of Energetic Boundaries and Exchange
With a partner, participants will be guided in approaching the boundaries and energy exchange of the chakras through sensory stimulation, movement, rhythm, breath work, meditation and spatial exploration.
Dress comfortably, bring a yoga mat, water, and a friend. You may also want to bring a pen and a journal.

WHAT IS FIREFLY?
Firefly is an intentional gathering created by a group of like-minded Northern Arizona friends and family. We understand that a shift in consciousness is necessary, at this time, for all humans to live in harmony with each other, the planet and the cosmos.
We enjoy coming together to raise our vibration and we want to share this with you. Join us in the high mountain forest and help speed up the planetary paradigm shift, Firefly style!
Firefly will be held at the Soggy Bottom Ranch on the Coconino Forest. Get directions here. $65.00 gets you in for the entire weekend!
During a bodywork session this morning, my massage therapist Tessabella (check her out – she’s amazing) suggested I make a video about my workshop—so here is my homegrown Writing the Energetic Body video invitation . . .
How to write? What if I’ve never written before?
No worries! The writing prompts and movement are geared to stimulate the chakra we are focusing on. I will ask you to write for a specific period of time. During the writing period, the only requirement of you is to write until time is up.
There is no wrong way to do this. You may write any way you like. Don’t worry about grammar, spelling, or punctuation. They do not matter here. I always go back to what my first creative writing teacher Suzanne McConnell (and many teachers after her)* taught me—there is only one rule, keep your hand(s) moving. If you feel stuck, keep writing anyway. Try going back to the prompt and write it out until other words arise, then write those—or, repeat the last word you wrote again and again until new words appear—or, write, “I am stuck,” or “I can’t think of anything,” as long as you keep your hand moving. Writing is physical, the words will move through your body and come out of your hand—just keep it moving.
I hope that some of the writing you do here opens you up to going deeper and perhaps inspires you to write a personal essay, a story, a poem, or to explore some recurring themes in your life. At the very least, writing is communication, and, if you can write the truth, then you are deepening your relationship with your Self.
Mostly, I invite you to have fun! I am looking forward to seeing creative energies flowing. Although the prompts are linked in some way to the chakras, I encourage you to let go and just write whatever comes to you.
Ever resonate so well with what you are reading that it actually makes you feel uplifted, inspired, a little less alone? That is one of my favorite things about the power of words. Words help us relate to one another, not just face to face, but across time and space.
Writing is power.
Earlier today I shared a post from my friend Robert Alvarez’s blog, This is Who I AM, regarding prosperity consciousness. He implores us to recognize and use what we have at hand right now to bring Light into the world.
Now more than ever, we must radiate and reflect our Light. The American novelist and short-story writer, Edith Wharton once said, “There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” We have both the right and the responsibility to be both the candle and the mirror.
I am sharing this because his writing got me excited, uplifted, and inspired. To be honest, I’d been in a funk for a while—but in recent days Robert has been sharing his thoughts and they have brought sunshine to my heart and mind. He didn’t send me money, or flowers, or gifts, he just wrote what was going on for him and I strongly related.
His words spoke to me and I felt better!
Writing is a gift. The gift is especially meaningful when it comes from a place of deep honesty and the real need to communicate. It’s wonderful when we can trust the writer and open our imaginations to new worlds, scenarios, perspectives, and stories.
Realize that we are engaging in a form of conversation with every writer even if they are long gone— your imagination engaged with the writer’s words probably is a very different vision than anyone else’s.
How many times have you seen a movie after reading the book only to be disappointed? The director had a different vision than you.
Or,how many times have you read a book at one time in your life, and then read it again only to get something out of it that was completely different from the first experience? Years later, your perspectives have most likely shifted (and had probably shifted as a result of reading the book).
Often, to write powerfully, even if only for ourselves, we have to move past what we “think” we should write.
Have you ever asked yourself what your fears are about writing?
You don’t have to share your work with anyone, but if you are “dying” to tell a story and are afraid, chances are there is a part of you that is suffering for not letting it out.
Are you ready to let go of your intellectual understanding of what is “socially acceptable writing” and allow yourself to really say what you need to say?
Are you ready to let writing move through your body, into your energetic being, and trust what it’s saying to you?
Are you ready to release memories (or make up new ones), blocks, and sticky spots?
Are you ready for non-judgmental feedback, compassionate communication, and encouragement?

Our chakra system directly links to our bodies – physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Each track on this recording is a guided meditation through one of the seven major chakras of the body.
Journey through the Chakras is suitable for those new to meditation or for anyone who’d like to jump start their imagination through creative visualization.
1st Chakra: The first chakra is about our connection our “tribe”. The first tribe being our families, then perhaps school, friends, work, country. The tribe helps us to build our foundation. The tribe should eventually help us to create relationships with others and to build a strong sense of self.
2nd Chakra: Often our society regiments creativity, our connection to our emotions, and our sense of curiosity, right out of us. This is where we get to claim what is our birthright. This is where we allow our inner-freak flag fly!
3rd Chakra: Third Chakra really has to do with our personal identity and will. Who are we? What is our purpose?
4th Chakra: The heart is where we discover our emotional nature in relation to ourselves alone. The heart takes the passion of the first three chakras and moves it to a place of compassion. It takes raw energy and refines it, softens it, gives it an anchor.
5th Chakra: The Fifth Chakra is about Communication and Creativity. It is about keeping our word with ourselves and with others. When our 5th Chakra is balanced, we can trust and allow the “divine will” (which is really our Higher Self) flow through us.
6th Chakra: The sixth chakra is about perception, clarity of vision and thinking, and psychic ability. It is where we store and interpret our memories, perceive our dreams, and imagine our future. It is where we learn discernment – and the ability to detach ourselves personally from our life’s lessons.
7th Chakra: This chakra is concerned with the way we think, our belief systems, and our connection to higher power. Think on this – thought is the first emanation of consciousness on its way to manifestation. So, thought, being high in this ethereal realm, is the seed of manifestation, which brings us back “down” to the earthly plane.
