What if I told you, “You are enough?”

The right to be alive. First Chakra. Our connection to Earth and to the Cosmos. Our right to be free.

How are you supported in your right to be? Can you look in the mirror and say, “I am enough?” How does it feel to know that your being alive is enough? I am proposing that for the next 30 days, every time you pass a mirror, look into your own eyes and say , “I am enough.”

“Everyone should have themselves regularly overwhelmed by Nature.” ~ George Harrison

“Look at the sky: that is for you. Look at each person’s face as you pass them on the street: those faces are for you. And the street itself, and the ground under the street, and the ball of fire underneath the ground: all these things are for you.”  ~ Miranda July

“This is the world as it is. This is where you start.”Saul D. Alinsky

“National humiliation is long in gestation and violent in resolution.” – Roger Cohen

This is the fight our generation was made for. You know enough. And you can learn. If this happened in the future, there may not have been people around who lived the fight. Holocaust survivors, Vietnam and Iraq war veterans. AIDS activists. People who have seen what happens when ghouls come in and try to destroy government. We will turn their ridiculous plans into puddles as the sun comes out. ~ Matthew Kohn

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” — Mae West

“I’m very fond of Jesus Christ. He may be the most beautiful guy who walked the face of this earth. Any guy who says ‘Blessed are the poor. Blessed are the meek’ has got to be a figure of unparalleled generosity and insight and madness…A man who declared himself to stand among the thieves, the prostitutes and the homeless. His position cannot be comprehended. It is an inhuman generosity. A generosity that would overthrow the world if it was embraced because nothing would weather that compassion . . .” – Leonard Cohen

“Love, like fire, goes out without fuel.”  Mikhail Lermontov

“To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.”  ― Osho

“What a revolutionary proposition to realize that your heartbrokenness turns out to be the key to your willingness to remember what it takes to be a human being.” ~ Stephen Jenkinson

“You are my inspiration and my folly. You are my light across the sea, my
million nameless joys, and my day’s wage. You are my divinity, my
madness, my selfishness, my transfiguration and purification. You are my
rapscallionly fellow vagabond, my tempter and star. I want you.” – George Bernard Shaw

“As much as I love beginner’s mind, though, I advocate an additional
discipline: cultivating a beginner’s heart. That means approaching every

you’re feeling it for the first time.” –

In the act of forgiving the ‘other’ the radiance of the self is actually freed…. Enter now into this radiant, flowing wholeness that is offered by the Divine to release anything that you have not, until this moment, loved into wholeness.” – Ariel Spilsburg, 13 Moon Oracle

What I’m Loving – Oh My Love

Fool for love. Creative process is good. Relaxation is good. Make time for good things.

“Oh My Love” is a song written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono that appeared on Lennon’s Imagine album in 1971. George Harrison contributed guitar on this song and several other songs for the album. (wikipedia)

John: Well I don’t know who made the golden rule that sex and love have to go together because I’ve enjoyed love without sex and sex without love – and quite often they come together (there you go), but quite often they don’t.

Yoko: So what is love then? I really think that love is something to do with relaxation. When You’re guarded with somebody, then you’re not relaxed. And when you’re guarded with somebody, you can’t love that person. Love is when you understand it so well that you relax finally . . . and we have that kind of relaxation between us a lot.

IMG_3761While meditating last night, I felt an opening—a feeling of spaciousness throughout every cell of my body. I realized that the spaciousness of relaxation is where love flows. Though I was alone, I could feel love for my life, for the world. That’s a good feeling! (It seems I haven’t felt open and relaxed in a long while).

After I was done meditating, I saw one of my roommates and asked him if I could give him a hug. He said, “Yes, is everything alright?” I said, “Yes.” And so, we hugged.

Born on a Thursday #52 – A long way

Whoa. It’s been a year since I started Born on a Thursday. So much has happened since I began this.

Happy Spring!

Sun! (c) 2014 Holly TroyI am beginning to feel more like myself again—the journey of this last month of winter has been very dark and at the same time enlightening. I am entering spring with a deeper sense of self-awareness. Not that I didn’t fight it, but, finally surrendering to walking through the darkness (do I have a choice) almost alone (I had my trusty canine buddy Stoney – I’d post a pic of him, but cameras really make him nervous).

Honestly, I walked a lot of sunsets, which is something I really love to do!

Been thinking about my reality and life experiences, love, and being valued, and this planet, and where I live, and what’s next.

Listening to the Beatles the last couple of days. Thinking about George and John a lot. So much gratitude!

Glad the sun is coming back. Just in time . . .

Man, always err on the side of compassion and kindness. It really is common sense.

I am grateful for all the people who have influenced my life in a good way – whether I have met them or not (especially friends, musicians, artists, writers, – oh, and lovers).

Thanks to all who have reached out to me in the past few weeks. Much gratitude and love, truly.

Om Shanti ~
