Round Squares

Square is Where it’s At

My first attempt at a serigraph. After this, I botched up the next layer of color.

seragraph1 © Holly Troy 2011While I was figuring out how to work with the different ink viscosities, and wrapping my mind around the process, I reached that feeling of timelessness and weightlessness that comes from creative action. I haven’t felt that for a long time. It was thrilling to get into the process and not worry about the outcome.

I love how creating a piece of work, how that in-the-moment-feeling spills over into everything else in my life. Yoga helps me with being in the moment, too, but not nearly as much as visual art and music do.

I feel like I’m coming out of a cave and coming back into living.
