New Moon Intention Setting and Writing Exercise

Tonight is the new moon in Pisces. For tonight, or, for the next two nights, it is a good time to set intentions. I propose an intention setting exercise this evening. A few years ago I learned an exercise similar to the one I am presenting here while I was going through a particularly tough […]

New Moon New Year

What do you want from your life?

The first New Moon of the year is today – the New Moon in Capricorn. New Moons are a powerful time to make intentions. Capricorn gives us strength and endurance for discipline and responsibility. We are already in the mindset of “new-ness” – the energy for bringing in what we want is snowballing right now.

2012 is over — what would you like to leave behind? Can you make the decision to let go? Will letting it go be for the greater good of your life — and perhaps the lives of those around you?

Capricorn energy gives you the strength and discipline to see the bigger picture and take the steps needed to do what is the highest and best.

Alan Watts says, “What do you desire? What makes you itch? What sort of a situation would you like?”

Divine Inspiration and Goddess of Astrology, Patrice Kamins

My friend Patrice Kamins, Meta-Astrologer, made this video called “What is Astrology?” It’s cosmic, psychedelic, and down-to-earth all at once. This Cap Sun with a Sag Rising and Scorpio Moon loves it!  Patrice’s reading for January begins: We can all get on with our lives in an adult fashion now that the disaster or esctasy fetish […]

Eighteen for Eighteen – print of Ganesha

The Elephant-headed God, Ganesha, is most revered as the Remover of Obstacles. He is often the first God honored at the beginning of rituals in order to ensure all blockages to success are removed at the very start.

Invoke Lord Ganesha before your next project! Place an image of him near your altar, or anywhere you’d like energy to be free-flowing.

Saturn is moving into Scorpio. Now is the perfect time to remove articles. According to incredibly compassionate and down-to-earth astrologer Anne Ortelee:

The week ahead is designed for releasing the stuff you no longer want, desire or need. We are in the dark phase of the moon, moving toward a New Moon at 22:32 Libra next Monday. The New Moon will be the FIRST New Moon while Saturn is in Scorpio, a kind of inauguration so to speak.

Eighteen is a lucky number. There are ten of these prints left.

Rubble, Trouble, and Celestial Evolution at my Door

Dreaming I am driving in the city, a city, the way I dream of New York lately. Houston Street is always a vast 8-lane highway that breaks off in a V, dividing the Lower East Side from the rest of the city. Massive buildings, uneven, bulging, and swaying—thousands and thousands of windows. No room for air. It’s grey, the sky, the city, everything. Even red and yellow have a coat of grey.

Navigating this Summer’s Mercury Retrograde

For instance, with Mercury Retrograding in Leo, it may be a time to let go and enjoy the warm summer sun while not worrying about looking “perfect”! It’s nice to look good, but this may be a lesson in relaxing about our outer appearance. On the other hand, if you’ve got an important event to attend, it may be wise to be prepared by bringing back up attire, or allow extra time for ironing—just know that you may have to make an extra effort to feel good about how you look, or that someone may spill red wine on your white blouse . . .

Moving out of T-Town and a Solar Eclipse

I am also going to do some moon magic – a little letting go, a little intention setting, and a little gratitude. Of course, it’s good to take stock on a regular basis—and have some gratitude everyday—but today is especially big. (My friend Robert Alvarez created a lovely post regarding the moon and the power of “no” just this morning. Check Robert’s post out).
