We are a being . . .

The further you can move toward the subtle energy levels and manipulate things from the subtle realms, the more understanding and awareness you will have in your life because the subtle holds more power than the gross.

A message from Swami Sitarananda of Sivananda Ashram.

I like how she begins this piece with “We are a complex energy being.” Not, “We are complex energy beings.” We are a being. We are One?

Tuning to the Source

We are a complex energy being. There are subtle energies playing in our life all the time. We need to know how to balance (harmonize) the energy in all layers of our existence. We need to learn to increase the wavelength of our energy and how to make our energy work for us. What does this mean? It means to live a worthwhile life. The more energy we have, the more power we will have and this will make us free. Yoga is the practice that will set you free. How are you going to do it?

You have to understand that you are not this gross, physical body. Get out of the idea that you are this gross body living in this gross world. The understanding and training in the world is based on the physical. What you see is the picture of reality. It is what you are. But ashram life is an esoteric school. It is a yogi school. The science of yoga is thousands of years old. The classical yogic teachings come from sages who have much more understanding of what life is about than we do. They say the physical body is only the gross end of experience. The further you can move toward the subtle energy levels and manipulate things from the subtle realms, the more understanding and awareness you will have in your life because the subtle holds more power than the gross.

The subtlest of all is the Self. This is the pure consciousness of who we are. This is the Source of all prana of the universe and it is there for its own purpose. That is a good thing to know. The energy of the Universe is everywhere, we just have to tune ourselves to it and then we will live a balanced and harmonious life.
