when moms are far away
my mom is a pretty groovy mama
This is a picture of a bookshelf in my room with a picture of my mom from the mid70s.
I spoke to Mom last night. She is doing ok – though I think she is a little antsy to get out.
Ive been thinking about how Mom always encouraged me to use my imagination and the idea that anything is possible. She even encouraged experimenting with ESP (extra sensory perception). It was the 70s after all!
Mom’s open-mindedness and playfulness has been a steady guide for my approach to life.
I love you Mom!!
Singing Songs for Mom
We tried to reach Paul’s mom on the phone, but she didn’t answer so we made a video.
In this video, we perform:
Morning of my Life by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees
Love is a Rose by Neil Young, and
Lorelei be Phillip Chevron of the Pogues
Paul, his brother Pete, and I put on a three hour show for his parents and all their friends the last time we saw them. They were so cute!
So much love to your and your mothers!
Peace –
Holly
I can see a likeness between you and your mom in that photo. That was a long video. I never liked Love is a Rose, and to be honest, I still didn’t like Love is a Rose, but I enjoyed watching you two enjoying yourselves performing it. That’s the beauty of music. One can still enjoy songs they don’t like much if the performance is fun. Happy Mother’s Day to your moms.
