Writing Prompt 78 – own it

Prompt

“I want to be nasty, and I want to be raw.” ~ Rick James

On Writing

Breathe the sentence in. Exhale the sentence. Inhale and exhale each word. Now inhale and exhale the sentence. Then, go!

There is only one rule, keep your hand moving.

Don’t worry about grammar, spelling, or punctuation. If you feel stuck, keep writing anyway. Try going back to the prompt and write it out until other words arise, then write those—or, repeat the last word you wrote again and again until new words appear—or, write, “I am stuck,” or “I can’t think of anything,” as long as you keep your hand moving. Writing is physical, the words will move through your body and come out of your hand—just keep it moving.

Now go – for five, ten, fifteen minutes . .

  1. I think we all want to be nasty and raw at times. I was thinking about Jordan, noticing he had not posted anything in a while. I was going to ask you if you had heard from him, and lo and behold, he showed up with a comment, a replay and a new post. The power of thinking about someone. He had mentioned he was moving to Taos several months ago. It looks like he finally made it.

    1. Yah!

Jordan is in Taos! Yes. I need to visit – both of you. So much ha been going on with me lately that that is up in the air. But it will happen. I’ll probably write more about life at some point soon.

It seems like Jordan is doing well. Looks like he is loving the southwest. Indeed – the power of thought!

      How are you?

      1. We are doing well. I’ve produced a couple of new songs that Ron (bass player) and Joel (guitarist) have added their own takes on. Generally removing my bass and guitar parts, adding their own and leaving my percussion and vocals. I love collaborating on stuff like that. It’s interesting to see what other people come up with. I’m doing well and staying busy.
