Discomfort Process

I woke up ready to paint today! Colors and shapes moving through my imagination. I’ve got to catch them before they disappear!

I can’t wait to see what happens . . .

This happened a few days ago – I was feeling uncomfortable, but also aware the discomfort is part of the process. The puzzle of this piece has not been solved.

It was 93 degrees and almost 100% humidity and I was still very excited to paint.

I feel like I’m finally used to this weather and I’m able to move in it and work with it. Today the painting I did, I didn’t necessarily feel pleased with but at the same time I learned from what I did so, I’ll be able to change things up the next time I paint.

So today’s work is informing tomorrow’s work. And that’s how it always is.

And it’s good to remember that.
