The Moon! High Priestess

It snowed 6.5″ today.

It was a paint day. I am so close to being finished with three paintings – two of which are in the videos below.

Process Video 1

Maybe it’s Venus stationing direct – or maybe it’s that time in the paint process where I just have to take a break and let it sit for a day or two.

I know how to proceed – go for a walk, eat dinner, sleep on it.

Almost every piece of art, writing, music has this moment – and sometimes the same piece has the moment many times.

Process Video 2

I’m so glad I kept some of my unfinished work from 2023.

While upstate for my show at the Kingston Pop Museum – there was a storm and my studio was flooded. Many of the pieces I hadn’t finished for the show were destroyed.

This one survived!

And the work continues!

10,000 Plum Doodles Project

I often use scribbles as the genesis for a painting. These squiggles carry energy for me, and on their own, they tell a story. I call them plums because they are little treats for my imagination. I will continue adding to this project until I have reached 10,000 drawings.

John S. Hall’s 10,000 Poems Project inspired me – but rather than writing – I decided to collect my drawings. Sometimes I write when I doodle, and sometimes I share the writing as well.
