Every year, Kayleigh Jean from Falcons and Pentacles offers April Fool’s Journey – prompts for exploring the Major Arcana (the Hero’s Journey) through divination though tarot cards and a writing prompt. These are the cards I pulled for my own exploration – try pulling cards for yourself – or – get a reading from me.
Prompt for the Chariot – What is it that helps me reach my highest potential?
The Emperor and the Queen of Wands
This is such a great combination of male and female energy with balanced passion and strength.
The Emperor is the essence of the effective father figure. He is the power to create concrete reality out of ideas, intentions, and desires – in fact – it is his responsibility to do so. He protects and maintains life through order, clarity and structure. He is stability.
The Queen of Wands knows exactly what she wants. She is the essence of creativity. She is self-confident, competent, vivacious, and powerful. She manifests her desires with fiery enthusiasm, sincerity, and constancy. She represents personal integrity, enthusiasm, and magnetism.
What is it that helps me reach my highest potential?
There is so much richness to the archetypes represented by the Emperor and the Queen of Wands.
- Know what I want – there is power in having creative vision.
- Trust my desires.
- Having personal integrity is my responsibility, not only to myself, but to the collective.
- Know that responsibility means being in the position of being able to respond, rather than only react. Have the flexibility to dance between responding and reacting.
- Enjoy the process.
- Enjoy life.
- Be confident that I have reached a level of maturity and authority in my interests, talents, knowledge and creative endeavors. Seek and continue to grow and learn from everything I do.
- Be disciplined, have a plan, practice, learn – create structure for my aspirations, knowing that my actions expand adventures and life experience while building stability.
- Be loyal and steady with my work and vision.
- Embrace (my) power. Be friends with power. Be effective and powerful.
- Allow space for something better than my initial vision to manifest, and to know that it is for the highest good.
- Enjoy the company of friends (see cat in the Queen of Wands card).
So be it, so it is. So be it, so it is. So be it, so it is.

Excellent combo! Great elucidation of them. As I was reading Saturn (Chronos/Kronos) and Moira came to mind Saturn of course in one aspect having a chronological quality, and Moira, his wife, ruling the internal sense of time — both as well paired in the now of their “balanced passion and strength.” I felt a connection in your blog between that place-maker Emperor and Saturn, and The Queen of Wands and Moira. Then, your thorough list brought that balance of a place to be actionable. Your blog made a place with heart, that in itself is a very Chariot gig. Further, the Right Hand/Left Hand YAH movement of the Chariot’s powerful engine is high-octane aspirated with The Emperor and The Queen of Wands from start to finish in this blog.
It also paired well with the U2 cover. What are the names of the streets in this Emperor/Queen of Wands place that you have made?
