April 2020 ~ Isolation Song 15: Where the Streets Have No Name

Where the Streets Have No Name by U2

It’s been a few days since we made a video. We’ve been working on some new songs and writing – so songs that are not quite ready for the world yet. And, we are well, but our energy was a little low.

This was fun to do! Music is magic – it has a way of making the world OK for a little bit.

Shout out to our friend Trevor Turville. He is an amazing musician, super nice guy, and a really great teacher – who also lost all his gigs. He is now teaching online. Check out his work at AceSlim.com.

I read this passage by Terry Tempest Williams today:

“Once upon a time, when women were birds,
there was the simple understanding that
to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk
was to heal the world through joy.
The birds still remember
what we have forgotten,
that the world is meant to be
celebrated.”

So much love, everybody!

Sing! Dance! Do what brings you joy cuz that’s how you heal.

Paul and I have no idea when our next gig is – all gigs have been canceled. We make our living through gigs. We will continue to play no matter what.

If you enjoy our playing, consider buying us a coffee (see links below), sending a tip through venmo or paypal, and/or, sharing, liking, and commenting on this post or the video – it all helps. ❤

  1. Very nice rendition of “Where the Streets Have No Name”. Low energy is understandable while living the vida lockdown. I checked out Trevor’s site. He has reasonable prices for lessons. I’m encouraging my music friends who made their living teaching to start teaching online, but it is difficult. Laurie is teaching her math classes online, and there’s a great big learning curve, and it’s a whole lot of extra work to teach online. I had to upgrade our Internet because with both of us doing video conferencing, our old Internet wasn’t cutting it. Since Laurie has to have all her math stuff spread out on the counter, I’m video conferencing from my darkroom/music studio, so people see a revolving darkroom door and an array of guitars hanging in the background. A strange sight indeed.
