Trippy Trip and Finding The Way

Has it really been six months of living in a world on lockdown?

I keep on saying – visualize the world you want to live in, and live it to the best of your ability right now – because we are walking through change whether we like it or not.

Six months of no live gigs is strange. And the summer saw our activity slow down as we had the honor (and heartbreak) of being Duke’s humans and walking him to the next phase to his non-physical existence.

It’s taking some time – our energies are coming back to the world of the living! Up until now, it as been difficult for Paul and me to get together and make music. Our music room is/was Duke’s room – slowly, day-by-day Paul has been reclaiming it.

Here we are! Paul and I created another Song from the Hearth. My cousin requested The Way by Fastball about four months ago.

My debut on guitar – I felt pretty relaxed. I am curious and want to do this song again in three months just to compare how much my playing has grown.

And so the experiment begins!

I hope you enjoy! It feels good to sing with Paul again.

Peace and love!

  1. Great to hear and see you two playing again. I love that song, and your rendition. I’m with Timothy, the mirrored guitars are something else.

You guys are certainly getting strange pendulums in your area. And, I saw Denver was 101 F on Saturday and went from hot to winter in 18 hours yesterday-ish.

    1. Thanks! It’s such fun.

It’s really windy – windier than usual in Flagstaff. I’m going to brave the wind though, and get myself out for a mtn bike ride before it’s too cold.

  2. Some of our restaurants and breweries with outdoor spaces have been hosting live music outdoors. But not much live happening here, either. Love your song. You two are a wonderful mirrored couple strumming your guitars, one left the other right. It’s fun to see and hear you play. Keep the warmth coming from the hearth. It’s only in the 40’s today.

    1. Thanks, Timothy. Yah – some of the places here are opening back up, too – but it’s so weird.

We had to wrap our plants in blankets last night!!! I have some friends in Madrid, NM and they have snow!

      It’s cold! Stay warm!

      1. Madrid is on the other (east) side of the Sandias from us. They are only 1000 feet higher, be we are on the rain shadow side of the Sandias, so it’s not surprising they got snow.
