I have always believed that our voices are important and powerful – no matter how meek we believe ourselves to be.

I love this story – if I need to hear it every morning as a reminder that small actions can make a difference, so be it. (Action is the key word!)

When I was a little girl waking up in the morning for school, my mom used to say to me in a gentle voice, “Come on . . . It’s time to rise and shine,” and I’d get out of bed with this vision that I was a little version of our brightest star – just for a moment.
