liminal landscape shimmer
softening awakening
to the dream

The world feels particularly dreamy right now. Cool mornings are perfect for dreaming, before the heat presses in, before the blankets, the air, become too heavy.
I wake, confused about the day, the year. Is it 2019 or 1989? Lying in bed, before I start thinking, I see music notes, there in the air behind my eyelids, I read them – C, D, G, yes – I haven’t forgotten!
Another layer of forgiveness, for this crooked path I have taken. When the end of the road is really the end, and music makes me feel more alive than any other thing – even more than riding my bike in the woods, even more than painting, even more than sex . . . those years of silence one big circle back to where I left off . . . no time to regret the detour, just move forward with sound, rhythm, color, and gratitude.

More time slipping. We bought a tape deck from the local thrift/used bookstore so we could hear our old music. I made a video of Spacebugs.
Weird stuff from the early 90s – San Francisco. Nano-technology prediction . . .
Music has a way of being life. You know that music stimulates the same area of the brain that produces chemicals that give us pleasure as does other pleasurable activities like sex and eating tasty foods? That’s one reason why you a noticing that listening to and creating music you like is as good or better than other activities you find pleasurable. I have a lot of old tapes, but I don’t currently have a tape deck. I’ve considered buying a used tape deck, but it’s not been very high on my priority list. The Spacebugs video is pretty cool. The sound makes me think of psychedelic 60’s mixed up with punk.

Hi Timothy – All of it! Exactly! Including the sound of Spacebugs. 🙂
Get a tape deck – it’s fun to listen – before the tapes turn to dust . . .
