April Fool’s Journey 2020 – The Lovers

Every year, Kayleigh Jean from Falcons and Pentacles offers April Fool’s Journey – prompts for exploring the Major Arcana (the Hero’s Journey) through divination though tarot cards and a writing prompt. These are the cards I pulled for my own exploration – try pulling cards for yourself – or – get a reading from me.

Prompt for the Lovers – What am I a loving warrior for?

Ten of Swords and Seven of Wands

Wow! Ten of Swords again! On a broad level, this is release and change that can be painful, that creates a disruption in lifestyle, communication, or daily routine – and it has been a long time coming. We are all in the middle of this. Ultimately, once the Truth is seen, it cannot be unseen. Full embodiment of the Truth brings a new dawn.

But what of Ten of Swords coupled with the Seven of Wands?

There is clarity for the need to release deep-seated ideas or perceptions that are not my own but have tenacious roots from my ancestors and culture, especially regarding envy, competition, and the “power over” paradigm.

This transformation of self is akin to lifting a curse, not just for myself, but for the collective consciousness. This is a battle for my (our) right to be here and live here in joy – and to fully share and experience my (our) creative expression. I remove the knives of envy, fear, greed, suppression, and deceit – they are not mine.

These cards are saying – you are on the right track. Cast off perceived limitations, and be solid in your creations. The way forward is through focus and daring action. Your projects and your creative spirit are worth fighting for. In the end, whether you face competition or not, your contribution has worth and merit. Value your ambitious instinct.

I am a loving warrior for creative authenticity, for the power of imagination and innovation to strengthen human resilience through love and diversity.

Thanks for reading!

Peace and Love,

Holly

  1. Wonderful post!

In regards to the 10 of Swords I often express, “Yes, it feels like rock bottom, though Stomp Stomp, what a grand and strong place to stand, Stomp Stomp on rock bottom. Just don’t let it have a basement. Mind your footing, and look up. Everything can only not get better from here.” To which I will add from your read, when one has “daring action.” 🙂

I was most struck by those two words you penned. “daring action.” Very 7 of Wands. Those 2 words felt to be the 7 of Wands expressing “full-on Nature.” Not chaos. Nature, as Nature simply knows energetic weather. Full-on Nature of Self when actionable, even if that is just being comfortable with the not-knowing. There is focus in the 10 of Swords. You captioned that just prior to “daring action.” I like that tandem syzygy you have set up that expressed from my perspective a binary star system composed of the 10 of Swords and the 7 of Wands where these two cards naturally relate not TO one another, but WITH one another. That’s some solid stuff.

    1. Thanks so much for the response. I am learning so much through this “journey” – I feel like something about the tarot has become more integrated in the last few months. It’s a great feeling. Learning is a great feeling.

      1. You’re very welcome. I felt that integration quality in the tenor of the feel. Had some perfect pitches that were just off, just off in that full-on interpretive natural just off where a performance Induces ablution tingles. The beauty of the Natural, well expressed not in process, as everything’s always in process. The beauty of the Natural, well-expressed word-painting of experience. I guess… Songs of Experience, Songs of Life?
