New York City

Plum Doodle 493, 494, 495

journal fragment 11.06.2025

Mamdani won NYC! NYC! NYC!

Almost everything that was up for election went more blue — even Connecticut. Our “town” – still Republican though. Groan.

. . . if I could live in NYC again and afford it – Oh My God! That would be oh so great~!

God – Right now, I’d also like be able to afford new contact lenses.

10,000 Plum Doodles Project

I often use scribbles as the genesis for paintings. These squiggles carry energy for me, and on their own, they tell a story. I call them plums because they are little treats for my imagination. I will continue adding to this project until I have reached 10,000 drawings.

John S. Hall’s 10,000 Poems Project inspired me – but rather than writing – I decided to collect my drawings. Sometimes I write when I doodle, and sometimes I share the writing as well.

  1. Fear and poverty cause an over evaluation of what is good and what is not good. Lies and false promises are exactly what the Bible says about false profits. They promote a better way , However never explain how it will happen. After everyone loses all that they have and then is given food and housing , then the light bulbs with flash Oh Shit what just happened and how can I go back.

    1. I can think of one false prophet from New York City – and he doesn’t live there anymore.

Poverty certainly makes everyday choices feel like life and death – and sometimes they are. Do I eat today? Do I skip my medication so I can eat? Do I not eat and feed my kids? If I buy food I won’t be able to afford heat, but in a month it will be so cold I might freeze to death if I don’t have heat . . . ) What’s a month away if I don’t eat now? Don’t get the medical procedure now . . .? Don’t get the SNAP benefits now?)

There is an answer. The gap between the haves and the have nots is astounding. The Bible also says Love thy neighbor.

There is an answer: Tax the rich.

      MATTHEW 25:31-40

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, “I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

      1. Well I am an opptimist so we will see, I don’t promote great wealth or the great division of the middle and mega rich. I denounce Power Control and greed. I have hope that we will move towards an eagletarian society where everyone gets and is treated the same.
