What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for deep relaxation and stress reduction that can speed healing, reduce pain, and decrease other symptoms of discomfort. It is a form of energy healing that uses a “laying on of hands” in order to direct Universal Life Force Energy or a form of Ki to the recipient. Hands are placed just off the body or are lightly touching the body.

Used as an “energetic tune-up”, reiki can be a soothing experience with the beneficial effects of deep relaxation, feelings of peace, security, and well-being. Used in conjunction with medical or other therapeutic techniques, it can help relieve side effects and promote recovery. Many people experience profound insights during and after a reiki session.

Basically, love vibrations are healing.

Paul is a skilled reiki practitioner with a specialty in doing reiki on pets. One of the things he loves when he is feeling blue is to go to animal shelters and give reiki to the animals there.

I learned reiki in the early 2000s. I received reiki levels I and II through Marion Leone at White Tail Center in Milford, PA,  and my Reiki Master Teacher training through Geordie Numata at Deer Spirit Reiki in New York City. I specialize in exploring the chakras.
