Refracted Light Dancing Over the Rebirth of Icarus

While sorting and packing and preparing for the next phase of my life, I created a video and music of light passing over Rebirth of Icarus.

It is not lost on me that I am in the phase of breaking the surface of my own rebirth – not sure though if I am crashing down or rising up. All that I know is that everything is in motion and I am accepting the huge “I don’t know” of it all. 

I am in New York. In the Hudson Valley spending time with my mom and my aunt. In a few days I will be in the city with visions (not plans, yet) to see friends I haven’t seen in decades. As well, I need to put into action my plans for making money, last month was a free fall float in trusting with my art show at the HeArt Box, in Flagstaff, AZ – and now it is over. Music, art, modeling, tarot, teaching – they are all in the mix for how to make a living. And so, the net phase of work also begins.

This morning, bundled up and sitting in my aunt’s non-winterized cottage, I pulled the Eight of Swords reversed. These are excellent questions of focus for VIII of Swords from the book Tarot for Your Self: A Workbook for the Inward Journey by Mary K. Greer:

• What actions, plans, or ideas are being blocked by circumstances beyond your control?
• What would you like to do if you could get rid of obstacles and blocks?
• Who or what could assist you to break free? What benefits do you receive by not acting?
• What is interfering with your creative expression? Or, you ability to communicate?

Affirmation: “I free myself from my own dilemmas by letting go of the concepts that have bound me.”

Can you make a little time for yourself to create everyday? would answering the above questions help you to clarify what it is you would like to create, and perhaps the illusions around why you can’t or won’t create?
