Music Monday – Shapeshifting Music

During the pandemic, I became a big fan of Lydia Lunch’s podcast, the Lydian Spin. One guest enthralled me with his storytelling. My ears perked up at Episode 87. Lydia’s guest, Gary Lippman, stirred in me the desire to not only write again – but to read books again. And Gary had a book – Set the Controls for the Heart of Sharon Tate

I ordered the book. I read the book – and about two-thirds of the way through – had a trippy, spooky deja vu experience. Happy weird day! I wrote and made a video about it.

Life was strange. Life is still strange.

It turns out that Gary has a playlist that inspired him for the writing the novel. He wrote an article for LargeHearted Boy, which includes the list, and some history and where his writing was at with each song. A fun twist on writing process.

Today’s Music Monday are the songs from Gary’s list!

and the videos . . .

Bonus – John the Wolfking of LA – John Phillips – entire album

Pink Floyd album cover –  The Piper at the Gates of Dawn – Photographed by Vic Singh

Can you guess which tune from this list is my favorite?

Have an amazing week!

Tell the people you love that you love them.
