Dark and Brooding beware
here come the Sun
whether you want it or not.
I have chosen to be in Brooklyn right now, in the middle of winter, when the city in its way closes down. No one blames you when you say, “I don’t feel like going out today. It’s raining/snowing/freezing.” I could be doing a dance between places in New England right now, jumping from friend to friend – and I am so grateful, so grateful for them – or I could be hunkered down in Brooklyn, alone, recovering from Covid and myriad other maladies.
It’s been dark. I feel like it’s been a dark time (for me) for a while – but physically, here, this place, the winter, it’s been dark. And then, I have these skylights. This morning, the sun!
My time at this place with the skylights in the city I love, it’s limited. And I’m not so sure I’m a city girl anymore. (I still like the idea of being in the country and the city – and that is what I am essentially doing right now – I’m somehow pulling it off. And, I am listening to where life wants to pull me – even with the music and the art – I’m not quite in the city groove).
It is not lost on me that I will look back at this time and remark how special it is/was. And – the skylights~! The skylights add a dimension of magic.

Skylights are everything. I’m glad you’re finding the light even when everything is dark. I hope you get to feeling better!
