The only thing to do is be kind

Winter Wandering

My walkabout around Sunset Park today included listening to Carolyn Elliot and Laila Bernhardt talk about being weird church ladies. I was laughing out loud and smiling at people.

Some people smiled back!

It’s mid-December and the sky is blue.

The sidewalk holds hints of weirdness immortalized in concrete.

I will be going back to New England tomorrow, and back to the city in a few of weeks.

Right now it’s time to turn inward, decide/ be guided to what’s next. This week leading up to solstice and my birthday feels liminal.  The week after solstice/birthday into the new year feels like swimming through an underwater cave before being reborn to the other side.

I’m ready for the change to change.

I feel like the equation for my birthday is: ([- 365x + change] > birthday < [change + 365x])(growth + light/shadow + mystery) = manifestation
