Buddha Beach is part of Dreaming in Cyan. It was also a classic in my living room when I lived in Flagstaff. It was the backdrop of several salon shows and band rehearsals. Music is a big part of its history. 

Though you can’t see it, Buddha Beach was to the right of us during our last performance in the ‘Shire. 

Buddha Beach is a place I’ve been to many times on my mountain bike adventures in Sedona. The trails and buttes are clay red and pink and pale orange; the sky so blue, colors pop.

And sometimes, if there is water, the pools reflect the sky nestled in rich brick red orange. As the sun sets, everything shifts and changes, warm goes cool and bright shifts to the faintest chalky pastel. If there are clouds, the sky blazes fiery and purple. 

And then, when it rains at sunset, the whole place turns blue – almost like the red never existed.
