my little corner of E.ville

Surrounded

Lots of forest and all the snow is melting (though
it will get snowy next week
I think)
and the house is teetering on
renovation and
there is a house down the road with a big banner in the back of the garage that says,

GUNS
TITTIES
BEER
FREEDOM

and there is a man boy who sits on a rocking chair – he’s “not *right*, a little slow – in front of the garage and yells
at his dog because she barks
when people (I)
walk by,
and there are deer and cats and coyotes,
and recently –
ghost visitors who’ve been knocking on the door in the middle of the night

  1. Yelling at the dog. The Colonizers would do that when the Dog barked because Braves were surrounding the white men’s encampment. Dog could hear and smell them. Colonizer could not. “Shut up, you stupid mutt!” Take a swig of whiskey. Then take an arrow in the chest. Last swig. Oh, well.
