Cancer New Moon July 14th, 2026
The new moon is almost here. What do you want to let go of in your life? What no longer nurtures you?
Over the next few days, imagine letting go of stories, beliefs, habits that no longer serve you. Assess where you give away your power. What would your life be like if you let go of all the things that drain your vitality, capacity to love and be loved, agency, and strength?
Take the time to write down what’s not working for you. Write for yourself and then write for the collective. Let it be a ritual – dance and throw the cords off your body, stamp them into the ground. Or, write them out of a piece of toilet paper and flush them good-bye!
Make room to bring something in / set intention during the New Moon on July 14th. Let at least one of your intentions be for the world.
The Cancer Cycle is a time of honoring the Divine Feminine. This is a time of recognizing our emotional energy as sacred and wise, our intuition and synchronicities as holy guidance, and our impulse to nurture and protect all living things as evolutionary and creative.
In her book, Making the Gods Work for You: Astrological Language of the Psyche, Caroline Casey says, Cancer reminds us:
“I feel what is needed to incubate life, and I respond.”
“What we tend will tend to us.”
Some of the questions you may want to ask yourself during this moon are:
-
Have you done your spiritual good housekeeping to create an environment in which nourishing can take place?
-
Have you found and healed the parts of yourself and your culture that have experienced homelessness and exile?
-
Have you given thanks to your Mother(s)?
-
What part of yourself do you need to feed?
-
Who and/or what in your culture has been neglected and needs nourishing and protection?
-
What do you want to bring to life?
Can you make intentions that are a response to the above questions?

When making intentions, think in terms of the synodic cycle, which last four weeks until we come to the next new moon. Also, consider the longer lunar gestation cycle, which lasts about two and a quarter years, with the next lunar family beginning at three years.
Using the Moon for Co-creating with the Cosmos
NEW MOON – Time to use your imagination. Unseen potentials. Seed. Set Intentions.
FIRST QUARTER – Seedling pushes through dirt. Nurture, observe, Review, weed, take action.
FULL MOON – Full Flower, Full Awareness, Celebration. Commit. Still time to weed.
LAST QUARTER – Harvest. Reap rewards (or karma). Sort, review. Mix new seeds with prize seeds
I’ll be making a video discussing the moon vibes and will pull a few cards to see how we might want to work with the cosmic energies before or on the New Moon!
See you soon.
Happy Creating!
