Every Breath is a Miracle

I’ve been feeling cracked open, and this is the perfect message I need to hear right now. I’ve heard it before, but I am hearing it more deeply today.

I love Julia’s definition of ahimsa – “A being so fully and presently in Love that nothing else exists.”

The videos below are of Julia Butterfly Hill keynote for Midwest Yoga Conference by Reel Change Films. If you don’t know who Julia Butterfly Hill is, I recommend you read The Legacy of Luna: The Story of a Tree, a Woman and the Struggle to Save the Redwoods. It’s a book that inspired me years ago, and I may have to read it again!

Holly hails from an illustrious lineage of fortune tellers, yogis, folk healers, troubadours and poets of the fine and mystical arts. Shape-shifting Tantric Siren of the Lunar Mysteries, she surfs the ebbs and flows of the multiverse on the Pure Sound of Creation. Her alchemy is Sacred Folly — revolutionary transformation through Love, deep play, Beauty, and music.

  1. One of my most favouritest recorded presentations by Julia (who just had a birthday!), and also one of my all-time favouritest photos of Julia, as well. In Southern California Sixties Surf trash-talk, to sling a little mudder tongue atcha, there is only one word for Julia and everything she continues to climb: WAY-BITCHIN. Oh yeah. Cowabunga!
(OK, so that’s two words. Just to round things out, let’s throw in the third, while happily thereby throwing caution to the winds with regard to what we know the Urban Dictionary has to say, hilariously, about such word use: she just so totally TRIPINDICULAR!)
    Seriously.
