in in in the body

Poem and images by my friend, NYC artist and modern dancer, Julie Spodek.

The Samech and The Shin

both hips
in the left side
Scoop them together
somehow somehow
&
bone

stuff

calcium
&
phosphorous
&
salts
..
… two turned free webbed seashells
twisted and curved
ilium- ilia- iliac crests
unbeginning …
arcing and singing
away
be plained
be planed ..
smoothed uncurled …
the samech and the shin
moments in the left side of me
moments in the right side
moments in the left side of me
moments in the right side
of me
moments in the left side in the left side in the right side in the right side
on my back over the hip
weighted and calm and shining
never even.
waning crescents

Holly hails from an illustrious lineage of fortune tellers, yogis, folk healers, troubadours and poets of the fine and mystical arts. Shape-shifting Tantric Siren of the Lunar Mysteries, she surfs the ebbs and flows of the multiverse on the Pure Sound of Creation. Her alchemy is Sacred Folly — revolutionary transformation through Love, deep play, Beauty, and music.
