The promise of light
The gingko trees captured my imagination again on my walk-about today. The bark was vibrant in the rain.
I got thinking about the season, and the Full Moon in Gemini tonight.
Gemini feels green to me. Young. Hopeful. Bright. Even in the dreary drizzle, that Gemini energy is color and story and neighborhood treasures.
Full Moon at 11:07 pm EST
Gemini 16º1′
Tonight, think about what it is you are wanting to continue committing to?
Are things coming to light around something you began:
- Two weeks ago during the Sagittarius New Moon 1º37′ on November 23, 2022, and
- Going back to the Gemini Lunar gestation period that began with the Gemini New Moon Solar Eclipse 19°46’ on June 10, 2021. Think back to what was happening on or around that time. You may also have more information to gather from the opening square to Sun in Pisces First Quarter Moon at 20°27’ Gemini on March 10, 2022.
What was happening then? What are you celebrating now?
If you can’t remember, look back in your calendar, at your photos and social media, and of course, your journals to help spark your memory.
Finally, what do you want to let go of? If you are clear on obstacles, can you either release them, break through them, or turn them into assets?
Gemini is ruled by Mercury (Hermes – the Magician) – so there is a lot of energy for thinking, communicating, and manifestation.
Notice your life – it tells you what you are manifesting. What do you want more of? What do you want to grow? What do you want to let go?

Noting the Noticing
If you want to make a ritual or use this energy while it is in alignment with the cosmos, you can simply write down where you are at in your life right now, and review and answer the above questions as prompts for what you want to continue cultivating.
In the playful spirit of Gemini, you can also write out your desires in the form of “What if” questions.
If you have a candle and really want to take this further, simply light the candle while writing, and:
Hold the candle and focus energy into it for things you want more of in your life. You can draw a symbol on the candle that represents what you want – or write on it as well. If you have it, you can put a dab of honey on the candle and a dash of cinnamon or clove. Then, light the candle.
What you want to release, you can write on a piece of paper, burn, and flush down the toilet.
Happy New Moon in Gemini!
