Shedding Inhibition and Divining Your Intentions – with me

A new session of Writing the Energetic Body online is scheduled for the end of this month. I am constantly updating material so there will be new video instruction as well as a slightly new format for this next version. I’ve even made a new website/blog that focuses just on the classes — Writing the Energetic Body. I will be offering live workshops at my studio very soon.

The next four-week session begins on the Full Moon ~ January 27, 2013 to February 23, 2013

Writing the Energetic Body – 4 Week Online Course
Shedding Inhibition and Divining Your Intentions Workshop – 28 Days of Writing Past the Mind and into the Chakras

Allow your inner-critic to relax, have fun writing, and recieve encouragement and feedback while exploring your chakras.

shiva.fireflyFor this workshop we start from the Crown and work our way down to the Root. You’re encouraged to set an intention at the beginning of the session and to give thanks for the abundance that is already in your life. The Crown is about Ideas, Spirit, Divine Inspiration. The Root is about Manifestation.

Writing the Energetic Body will use the major chakra system as the “backbone” for self-exploration through writing.

Participants will:

  • compassionately and creatively observe the Self
  • uncover hidden impulses, stories, and life patterns
  • awaken the body/mind
  • utilize the breath for presence in the moment
  • deepen and expand creative vision
  • loosen up and strengthen fluid writing

There is no need to “know” anything about the chakra system, our bodies physically and energetically hold information, and by freely writing we can tap into that knowledge.

Participants will receive daily writing prompts designed to stimulate a specific chakra for the given day in their in-boxes. They will spend 30 minutes only on the given prompt. They will return their responses via email to me. Participants will also have the chance to upload their work to a private blog site to share and to give and receive feedback from other participants.

I will personally respond to your work via email.

As an added bonus, participants also receive either written, audio, or video instruction for movement, meditation, or breath work that will deepen the prompt for the day. Participants may use the additional instruction however they choose—and it is theirs to refer to whenever they like.

January 27, 2013 to February 23, 2013
The cost for the 28 Day Workshop is $72.00

  1. You seem to be a remarkable person, Holly. I would like to hear your view about the following. What differs profound understanding from knowing techniques? How does practicing techniques improve understanding?

Thank You and take Care of Yourself!

Thanks for the questions – I want to write a decent response, though it make take a couple of days. Quick response right now is – think about riding a bicycle. Before you know how to ride a bike, you might understand that you need to balance but not know the technique in order to have the balance to ride. The only way to know the technique is to try to ride. Once you can balance, you may never think about it again. If you do think about it, you will realize that your muscles are making tiny movements to adjust your body and the bicycle so that you don’t fall over. At the same time, you must look at where you want to go so that you can steer properly. You will discover if you are afraid of hitting a tree or a rock, but if you keep looking at the tree or rock that you don’t want to hit, you will ride toward them (and maybe even hit them). If you have never ridden a bicycle, you may not understand even what I mean, you will have had to have practiced riding to understand.

      Peace! Must sleep now . . .

      Namaste -Holly

      1. Thank You, I’m glad you took my question seriously because it really is. I trained yoga as a kid and have also trained various Budo sports, where the Zen teaching have been fundamental for all practices. In short: I’ve spent a lot of time contemplating over the relation between body, mind and divine. Subsequently, the question of the relation between understanding and practice is essential to me.
I started to get interested in yoga and Ayurveda again, not because of the practice really, but because there is some interesting jigsaw pieces in it that I lack. A very distinguished Brahmin friend of mine taught me, many years ago, that all the stories of the gods and ceremonies was actually just a way to transport knowledge in time, partly since there was no writing in the beginning and partly because writing was a too intellectual channel. The pictures and the properties of Ganesh, for example, is a map to a meditational state and the difference between spiritual levels are the simple understanding rather than elaborate explanations, ceremonies and practices. This implies well to your likeness of bicycling.

You are a yoga teacher and also seem to have many other developed creative talents, which probably means that you may have a more differentiated view than many other persons, so a long to hear what you experienced and think.

Thank you again for taken my question seriously and I hope if you take your time answering it more thorough that it even might teach yourself something.

        Take Care!
