I have been reposting Timothy’s work so much because he responds to my posts in American Sentence format – or – what Allen Ginsberg calls haiku. I began the American Sentence Project when Trump began his first term in 2017. Now I am on American Sentence 2.0.
Making has its own reward, and/however — connections, responses, and rippling out of creativity is what I hope for when I make things. Being a performer, creative collaboration is often immediate. But writing, painting – that’s a slower and solitary process. Seeing work expand and stimulate viewers to create is the best!

the overall shape and positioning of the images reminds me of the nurturance in some of Gustav Klimt’s work. The inner parts of the image me think about the apple (or some seeded fruit) where it’s cut open and we can see the inside of it. The insides make me think if we looked at the seeds through a microscope we might see something similar (like the building blocks of a cell in a biology textbook). the shapes also make me think of aliens – but that might be because of the probe looking object which then makes me think of other images and artwork I’ve seen related to microscopy where there is a huge burst of activity that comes out of a syringe

When I am creating images, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t exactly have words for what is happening. Sometimes when I am finished and standing back – or when other people respond – do I become more verbal about it.
The observation changes the observed. And collaboration / co-creation continues!

I can understand that, I’ll usually play around with different ideas or themes but tend to feel most inspired in the moment. (I also have alot of internal dialogue when I paint – I found out later in developmental psychology that this is one of the ways we (humans) learn to problem solve –
I feel like the main difference is that painting doesn’t feel like a problem, so it’s like I have a little Bob Ross who talks to me or something lol

Often when I’m painting – I’ll have at least one moment or three where I feel like I am on the precipice of failure, and then, I pull it together. Sometimes I have to step away for a few days and turn to something else.
I talk, dance, sing when I paint – along with internal dialogue. Problem solving can be fun –

Ecosystem, Healthcare maybe Choice Yes , A while back one of my students asked me Mr. Jim are you pro choice, I responded why do I have to be one or the other, as complex as this discussion is why can’t I be for choice and pro life depending on the circumstances.
