Sunny Solstice Day in New York, December 21st, 2022
I went for a walk in the forest today. Followed the river. Climbed rocky hills.
This is the perfect way for a Capricorn to spend the Capricorn Solstice. Walking, smelling the air, and thinking.
The turning of the season is the perfect time to think about:
- where you are – ask yourself – Where am I?
- What were my successes from the last 90 days?
- What do I want to be, do, and have next year at this time?
- What successes do I want in the next 90 days?
What’s next for you?
In the northern hemisphere, at a time when it seems like everything has gone dormant, this is when we get to build our foundations. All the plants are busy underground, pulling all their energy to their roots. It doesn’t look like anything is happening, but oh! So much is happening. This is when we can nurture ourselves and get really strong behind the scenes. We prepare to put plans into motion.
Winter Sun!
I think of Solstice as the New Year. It’s the New Sun of the Solar Year. After today, the days begin to get longer, little by little.
I create intentions – a broad plan. I’m not worried about whatever I come up with now – I know by the equinox I’ll be updating, upgrading and revising it all.
A special bonus this year!
The New Moon 1º32′ Capricorn happens on the 23rd of December at 5:16 AM Eastern Time. With the New Sun energy and the New Moon energy so close – this is a powerful time to get those intentions dialed in and do a ritual. Spend time outside, light a candle, talk to your houseplants, plant a seed with your intentions in it – whatever feels good to you.
Tonight, I am going to meditate, do sun salutations, and light a candle.
Most importantly, I will acknowledge what I am grateful for.
Peace and love!
