community diversity refers to the variety of life forms within a specific area or habitat, encompassing both the number of different species and their relative abundance. It also includes the range of human differences within a community, such as race, ethnicity, gender, and other social characteristics.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

1. Biological Community Diversity:

  • Species Richness: The number of different species present in a community.
  • Species Evenness: The relative abundance of each species within a community. A community with even abundance of species is considered more diverse than one with a few dominant species.
  • Examples: A forest with many different types of trees has greater species diversity than one with only a few types. A community with a variety of plants and animals in a specific area, such as a rainforest, is also diverse.

2. Human Community Diversity:

Range of Human Differences:
Diversity encompasses a wide range of human characteristics, including but not limited to:

  • Race, ethnicity, and national origin.
  • Gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
  • Age, social class, and disability.
  • Religious or ethical values, political beliefs, and socioeconomic status.
  • Education level, language, and geographic background.
  • Examples: A workplace or school with individuals from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences is considered diverse. A neighborhood with a variety of residents representing different ethnicities, religions, and socioeconomic levels is also diverse.

note: I have been focusing on definitions for forbidden words and phrases phrases in dictionaries. I have two from the late 1960s and 1970s that I use because: 1. I own them; 2. I’m curious to see how language has evolved over my own lifetime; and, 3. I’m assuming many people working with Trump would also be most familiar with language from the mid-twentieth century.

My initial search begins with analogue dictionaries, ie., actual hand held books. If there is no definition in the books I currently own, or a definition needs further exploration, I turn to the internet.

When I look for definitions online, I try to find a source that is either from an online dictionary, or from an academic site. I found the most comprehensive definition of community diversity in one place through google’s definition. I try to avoid the google definition generally, but after much searching, settled on google.

  1. Yes diversity, although i would hope it would be for the common good and not just to promote an event. Trust is worn so thin these days that i am not sure if it will ever be restored. I will continue however to trust the God of my understanding and to Fear nothing but Him.
