Plum Doodle 488
Journal fragment October 9, 2025
10 years ago:
- I was riding my bike a lot – really loving being in the forest, in southern AZ when it got cold
- riding with Roxy: Flagstaff, Sedona, Prescott, Phoenix, Colorado, Utah
- I had recently broken up with Speed
- My cholesterol went down after breaking up with Speed – no more cheese, beer, meat, tequila
- I was a skilled mountain biker
- Living in a little room at Martini’s
- I didn’t know what to do with myself — went for a lot of walks with Stoney
- Worked, rode my bike — that was really it.
- Listened to Marie Manucherie. Astrology. I knew I was beautiful, but also, just coasting. Emotionally broken (open).
- If I saw Speed during my rides, I’d cry.
- Threw myself into work. Work, ride, drink, sleep.
- Weighed between 132 and 136 pounds
- I got sick a lot — being around little kids.
- Felt the weight of misogyny.
- I turned inward. Really enjoyed riding. I rode by myself nightly.
- I love(d) the beauty of the trails, the southwest.
- I felt better off alone, I felt like I was discarded by men. I felt easier to be alone.
- I was bored a very lot — so I rode my bike and watched the sunsets a lot. Nature was my best friend.
- I am grateful for that time alone — for all the time with nature.
- I am grateful for the beauty I took in, the fresh air — day after day. I love being in tune with nature.
- I learned I can be alone.
- I learned the world is beautiful.
- I love this planet, I love the beauty of the southwest.
- I know if I feel a certain way about people — I don’t necessarily have to give people the benefit of the doubt (if they are jealous – they are jealous, misogynist – misogynist, nazi – nazi, stupid – stupid)
- I had no credit – financially free without credit.
- A credit card is a fake form of wealth – it’s fake.

I often use scribbles as the genesis for paintings. These squiggles carry energy for me, and on their own, they tell a story. I call them plums because they are little treats for my imagination. I will continue adding to this project until I have reached 10,000 drawings.
John S. Hall’s 10,000 Poems Project inspired me – but rather than writing – I decided to collect my drawings. Sometimes I write when I doodle, and sometimes I share the writing as well.
