I walked through a graveyard built to honor and house the bodies of Woodstock Artists. I noticed the average lifespans of these artists seemed shorter than the “normal’ graveyard across the street. I chuckled at the pattern, told myself a two-graveyard comparison and no known history of their occupants was not enough to make a correlation.
I also laughed at the idea that the only places where it seemed like I could get fresh air near town and away from traffic were the graveyards. They are filled with beautiful trees and grass, and away from the road. Car exhaust fumes were making it hard to breathe with Covid (I caught it again)!
While strolling through the graveyard, thinking about mortality and how I would like to live to at least 100, I made the decision to put money aside from future art sales toward a switch from mainly oil to acrylic paints. An expensive but necessary change. Before I knew I had Covid, I’d been painting, my lungs searing, and thought, “ya know, this might not be so great for my health.”
Aham Prema – Divine Love
Today is the first day I was feeling a bit better, so I made a made an Aham Prema video. I guide you in embodying Divine Love with the mantra aham prema, sending Divine Love to the Earth, all beings on the planet, through all dimensions of the universe, to your past self, your child self, to your mother before you were born, to your future self, and your current life. I figure, cover all the bases.
Peace out!
Namaste!
