Grounding Love, Expanding Time

On the first day of the Chakra Yoga Intensive at Seven Centers Yoga Arts in Sedona, we focused on the Root/Earth – Muladhara Chakra. During a meditation in a cave, we were guided to ask Mother Earth (our home), a question and allow her to answer. Here is my question and her answer:

Q: Mother, how do I live my life as an artist, a poet, a painter, and build a beautiful home for myself and my loved ones?

A: Use your art as a celebration of life, of my beauty. Nurture your art as you would nurture a child – care for it, cultivate it, let it grow. You have the creativity, you have the wisdom. Surround yourself with the village that will help you nurture your art, your creative life. Help others do the same. By sharing what you know, what you’ve learned about creativity, nature, me—the earth—you help others do the same.

Your creativity is a form of energy, of connection.

You need to let go of the shame around charging [money] for your art. You also need to let go of the holding around time—you need to expand time so you can make your art. Send love to the earth by being outside as much as possible, send love to time before every [creative] endeavor.

Expect miracles. Expect joy. Even when there is pain, there is joy.
